My lucky number

Hey friends! Can you believe it's mid september already? How did that happen? I turn 27 today. 27 has always been my lucky number- not sure why. But now I'm thinking I like 28 better. So maybe I'm in luck for the next TWO years instead of just one!

HMMM... what's new in the life of the hall family? I'm a sewing machine owner! HA! Yep. I was fortunate to have a friend let me borrow a machine to see if I enjoyed it. I did:) SOOOOO- I went and bought my own little basic machine andI just love it. WHat have I made? hmmm... let's see... a dress for Dani, a shirt for Dani, a hat for Dani, a hat for me, a sleep sack for a friend's soon to be born baby, a grocery sack holder, a purse, and hopefully today(!) a remote control holder for our six thousand remotes. My next projects include a green bay packer sleep sack for baby flynn (my first attempt at a zipper!), a tunic for Nate to wear with his skirt (kilt), a fairy costume for both me and Danika for Halloween!

Dani and I started sign language classes! We're having so much ffun singing twenty thousand verses of "The Bear went over the mountain!" Ugh. What did that darn bear see?? It's fun to watch her little brain ticking while she watches me sign :)

Danika Danika Danika .... my little sweetheart :) What is SHE up to now??? SHe's standing up all by herself! AH! Every milestone is a reminder that she is growing up way too fast :( She calls everything either a "dog" or a "hi dog!" including leaves, stuffed animals, trees, signs and cars, among others. She's surprised me and Nate and my own mother several times where she simply says a word we've never heard from her before, smiles, then never says it again, leaving us to wonder if she ever really said it at all or if we just imagined it. Her new favorite trick is to take EVERY. Single. PIece. Of. Material. and. Every. Pattern. out of my sewing basket and leave it all over. I love it. I uspposed you could call it sewing for babies 101.

SO- lots to catch up on in terms of pictures! I'm going to share pictures from our recent grand junction trip. I took Nate over the CO National Monument for the first time, Dani mowed the lawn with Poppy, and on our way back to Denver, we stopped and hiked my favorite- Hanging Lake!!! I just love Colorado.
