A life run by batteries

We quickly learned after we bought all our baby gear that our life is now run by batteries- nearly everything we own seems to depend on batteries. at one point we bought one bulk package of every size battery- and we were out in a month :( The point being... my camera batteries died. Its taken me awhile to remember to get some more. It's been a busy few weeks so here we go! ...

This has been a super warm end to the winter season. One weekday, Nate packed Dani girl up and went to the Butterfly Pavillion with Ashley and her daughter. When he got home, did he tell me about the butterflies? NOPE! He told me ALL about how much Danika loved the aquarium. It sent him on a mission ... through craigslist and friends Nate has inherited a 55 gallon fish tank, stand and rocks. lots of rocks. Slowly but surely, Nate's creation is coming along. When we have it all finished, we'll be sure to share!

March 15 Nate and I made it to our one year anniversary. It's been a busy year! A wedding, big move, adding Danika to our family and making it through this very rough season ...
We are excited to take a breather and enjoy the next year or two with our little family of 3.

The biggest announcement of the night...

DANIKA ROLLED OVER! (3/18)

Danika was playing on her tummy time mat and started fussing. I looked over the table and she was on her side, as we had often found her. Just as I looked over the table, she pulled her leg over and wound up on her tummy! I grabbed my video camera and caught her just as she was pushing herself back over.

She also has learned how to put her pacifier back into her mouth. It takes her awhile and usually it's the handle she shoves back in, she's getting the groove of it.

Last but not least... Nate has learned his lesson! He was playing airplane baby... zoom zoom zoom...bleck! Danika spit up all over Nate's face, landing on and near his mouth... blehhhhhh

March is coming to an end... Ari has spring break coming up the 28-April 3. We're looking forward to a week together as a family again ... hopefully I'll be good about updating this guy better!

Yummy to my tummy!

Danika Grace is 4 months old! WHat a big girl! She decided she wanted to try some cereal and some sweet potatoes. What a little adventurer we have on our hands. I think we're in for trouble- 2 bites into her first bites of solid food, she grabbed the spoon and took matters into her own hands. She's an independent little beauty. As she was eating her first bites of sweet potatoes, our little miss decided she wanted to have a food fight... she grabbed the spoon and flung sweet potatoes all over mamma! It was quite a sight. That's alright, when Mamma was eating, she spilled her food all over D. The first of many incidents:)

For Christmas Nate was given a build-a-bear unstuffed so he could have a special tradition with D. This past weekend we went and had Paddy, our leprochaun bear stuffed for Danika. We tried catching her smiles to her new bear but werent very successful.

More updates coming soon!
